The Community Partnership for Arts and Culture (CPAC) is a nonprofit arts and culture service agency for a seven-county region in Northeast Ohio. CPAC has three core program areas:
    • Capacity Building: CPAC develops programs that assist individual artists and arts and cultural organizations with strengthening their business practices.
    • Public Policy: CPAC works with public and private sector officials to ensure the development of policies that are responsive to the arts and culture sector.
    • Research: CPAC conducts research that supports and informs the arts and culture sector’s operating activities.
Our History
CPAC was formed in 1997 by the Cleveland Foundation and The George Gund Foundation to work with Northeast Ohio’s public, private and arts and culture sectors to develop the region’s first arts and cultural strategic plan. In May 2000, CPAC published Northeast Ohio’s Arts and Cultural Plan, which produced 4 goals, 12 objectives and 41 strategies aimed at strengthening Northeast Ohio’s arts and culture sector. In April 2001, CPAC incorporated as an independent 501(c)3 organization to fill functional gaps identified through the planning process (see above). CPAC annually provides hundreds of business and organizational development consultancies to artists and arts and cultural organizations throughout Northeast Ohio.
